What it's like to be in therapy with me?

Hello and welcome! I am a psychotherapist, sex therapist, EMDR practitioner, and Founder of Los Feliz Psychotherapy. I founded Los Feliz Psychotherapy with a vision of providing great therapy to the Northeast Los Angeles community including Los Feliz, Silverlake, Hollywood, Highland Park and Glendale. I have a wonderful team of therapists who work with similar goals in mind - clarifying your values, connecting in a deeper way to yourself and the people you care about, and creating the life you want for yourself.

I have been a psychotherapist for over 15 years. People often seek me out because they are feeling stuck in an area of their life, whether in a relationship or in a painful emotional pattern that just won’t let go. People may have experienced a recent traumatic experience that they need help working through or have complex trauma that needs more concentrated therapy to shift.

I hold my clients with care and tenderness while they are experiencing painful emotions, I model how to be kinder to yourself. A huge part of the problem with trauma, and why people may need help from a professional, is that there is often shame surrounding abuse or trauma. A person can feel wrong or bad for having bad things happen to them. I can help process the shame so that you can get to the emotions beneath the surface. I utilize EMDR and other techniques from mindfulness and somatic healing to work through painful feelings.

I hear from my  patients that I help them get to the root of the problem quickly. You don’t need to stay in therapy forever. Of course, there are people who benefit from long-term therapy. But with me, the focus is on what brought you in and how to reach your goals efficiently.

Something that sets me apart is that I am willing to share my authentic self with you. I am not a blank screen! I am human too and I have probably struggled with the same things.

My areas of focus are: sex therapy, relationship therapy for couples, individuals with anxiety or depression, queer and polyamorous-identified people; EMDR and mindfulness for trauma; adult survivors of childhood abuse and neglect; cult recovery; and supervision and consultation for mental health professionals.

I am licensed  in the state of California. I offer video sessions and in-person sessions in my office in the Atwater Village neighborhood in Los Angeles.

I offer a 15 minute free phone consultation to see if we would be a good fit. Click here to contact me and schedule a time. I look forward to hearing from you!
