What it's like to be in therapy with me...

Many of my clients come to therapy at a point of transition, where the patterns or ways of thinking that have gotten them this far aren't working anymore. Some are feeling grief, sadness, or anger, or a more subtle sense that there is more to life than this. For couples, you might be feeling a growing distance, painful and confusing conflict, or a sense that you're entering a new phase and not sure how to find your way through together. For most, the "why" is unclear, which is what brings them to therapy.

I work relationally and psychodynamically, which means I'm interested in your inner world and the way your history has shaped it. Healing starts in the present, but the present has ripples from the past. What you're feeling or thinking about in the moment, about your life, or about what's happening between us in therapy, are all welcome as things we can explore collaboratively.

Together we can slow down and look around with curiosity and openness at what you know about yourself, what you haven't yet discovered, and all the meaning that can live there. We can talk about what you're struggling with, understand what gets in the way, and support you in moving toward living in ways that feel fulfilling and alive.

I work with individuals, couples, and teens, and especially welcome those who are sensitive, thoughtful, and curious, and ready to go on a journey toward what is real and true. My foundational training is through Valley Community Counseling Clinic, where I studied psychoanalytic theory and received additional supervision in LGBTQ+ affirmative and sex positive care.
